Privacy Policy

We built the service to need as little data about you as possible. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights (including under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023).

1. This website

This website is a set of static pages. It has no accounts, no login and no comment form, and browsing it does not require you to give us anything. Our hosting provider processes standard request data (such as your IP address and browser type) transiently in order to serve the page and to protect against abuse.

The website uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It sets cookies and sends Google your IP address (which Google truncates), the pages you view, and general details about your device and country. We use this only in aggregate — we do not try to identify you, and we do not use it for advertising. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, or by blocking the script in your browser. The site works normally either way. The Android app contains no analytics.

2. What the app collects

• An anonymous device token — to prevent abuse and duplicate reports. Not linked to your identity.
• “Wrong data” reports (train number + optional note) — to improve accuracy.
• Basic technical data (e.g. IP, device type) processed transiently by our service provider for security.

We do NOT collect your name, email, phone, precise location, contacts, payment details, or account login (there are no user accounts).

3. What we do NOT do

• We do not sell or rent your data.
• We do not use it for advertising profiling.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not build advertising profiles.

4. Service providers

We use reputable third-party service providers for hosting, security, and app-integrity checks. They process only what is needed to run the service; they receive no personal information about you beyond transient technical data required to serve requests.

5. Storage & retention

Anonymous tokens and reports are stored only as long as needed for their purpose; reports are cleared after the related data is corrected. Transient technical data is retained per our provider’s short logging windows. Data may be processed or stored on secure servers that may be located outside your state or country.

6. Security

We use access controls, app verification, private storage, and rate-limiting to protect our systems. No system is perfectly secure, but we hold no sensitive personal data about you.

7. Children

The service is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law (including the DPDP Act, 2023), you may request information about, or deletion of, any data associated with your anonymous token. Because the data is anonymous, you may need to provide your token to help us locate it.

9. Consent & withdrawal

You consent to this policy when you accept it on first launch of the app and by using the service. You may withdraw consent at any time by uninstalling the app; anonymous data associated with your device token can be deleted on request (see “Your rights”).

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be shown by the “last updated” date and, where appropriate, an in-app notice. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
